The sixth floor of the National Art Museum of China was renovated and redesigned to accomodate an exhibition space for the long-term viewing of tiny classics. The works on display are among the most representative masterpieces of the National Art Museum of China, a “Pavilion of Treasures”, a true jewel. This first temporary exhibition offers the public Chinese paintings from the XX Century, created with oil paint, as well as some carefully selected sculptures: woken out of their slumber in storage and given a new life, the works are meant to help bring visitors closer to the great classics of art. Over the years, the National Art Museum of China created a system for gathering ancient, modern, contemporary, popular and Western art in a collection which offers an acute reflection on artistic innovation. A truly complete system, articulately narrated, reflecting reality itself.
