Thirty Years of the London Art Fair

Pablo Picasso, Juan Mirò, Andy Warhol, Banksy and Damien Hirst will be there, along with a gathering of their colleagues who, from the start of the 1900s to today, left their mark on the world of art. It’s a huge occasion for the London Art Fair, which celebrates 30 years of life in 2018, launching its calendar of international art events with a special edition. The Fair is a remarkable achievement in the continually mutating universe of contemporary art and collecting and this event is a perfect chance to give careful consideration to the role of the fair over the last thirty years. At the centre of it all, the offerings of 131 galleries from all over the world, that range from masters of Modernism to emerging talent to be discovered. Meanwhile, Art Projects and Photo50 present new trends in art and photography. In honour of the anniversary, there will be a large exhibition organised in collaboration with ART UK and prestigious British public collections. In Art of a Nation: Five Artists Choose, a selection of 30 works display the original points of view of Sonia Boyce, Mat Collishaw, Harron Mirza, Oscar Murillo and Rose Wylie on the nation’s artistic heritage, each focusing on a specific theme.
