Five years to change the world. From human rights’ to the hippies’ counterculture, from the invention of the miniskirt to May 1968 in France and the Vietnam anti-war protests, between 1966 and 1970 history has turned into a legend and crossed Oceans. Much more than a soundtrack, music has embodied the spirit of this unprecedented revolution, both in the Swinging London of The Beatles and America’s Woodstock. Whether you’ve heard the stories or not, from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, here comes an exhibition which is meant to become a cult event: in Revolution. Music and Rebels 1966-1970, themes, characters and atmospheres of unique times come alive through more than 500 stories, objects and documents. Songs which marked an era, trendy and shocking clothing, iconic films, life moments and historic events are brought to life in a journey that recalls fascinating vintage myths, while offering important questions, not only surrounding the period itself, but our present as well. Don’t miss the LP collection of John Peel, radio announcer, DJ, producer and journalist from Britain, who was a pioneer of new music styles, reflecting and creating the passions of a generation.
