The Day of Silence Experience

Most New Year’s celebrations are marked with exuberant revelry and cheer. Bali does things differently. On Saturday, 17th March, the island celebrates its New Year, called Nyepi, with 24 hours of meditation and silence. It is a striking change from the vibrant bustle of everyday life on the island. On this serene day, streets, beaches and skies are notably quiet; even the airport closes for the holiday. Now, the Day of Silence Experience lets guests experience the fascinating rituas of Nyepi as part of their stay at Bulgari Resort. The journey begins on Friday, 16th March 2018, when guests are invited to the ogoh-ogoh parade. Made of timber planks and bamboo to symbolise evil spirits, ogoh-ogoh are statues that are carried into the village and then burned in effigy to symbolise purification.

Back at the Resort, guests will enjoy daily breakfast, special Resort credits, welcome drinks and amenities, evening aperitif, activities and more.
