Tumpek Uduh is a ritual ceremony devoted to the worship of Sanghyang Sangkara, the Hindu God of all food–plants. The blessing ceremony is held at every plantation and farm throughout the island. Balinese Hindus make offerings to the God and pray for a plentiful harvest in view of the Galungan Festival. A special porridge or “bubuh” made from rice flour is offered to the God Sangkara and smeared on the tree barks as a symbol of fertilizers.
Purnama – full moon day - is a special day in Balinese Hindu to be celebrated. A propitious day for God to descend to the Earth and give His blessing. Balinese make special offering to the God in this holyday, give alms, reciting religious hymn, or set a pilgrimage to a remote temple.
