Eugenius: a Musical Adventure
#Music

The dazzling energy of the Eighties in a play that hits the stage at The Other Palace. Bringing this original production to life are Warwick Davis, known for his roles in Harry Potter and Star Wars, and Ben Adams, the frontman of A1, who has been working in musicals over the past years, from Robin Hood to Flash Dance. The play is centred around the love story of Eugene and Janey, two adolescents crazy about comic books. Eugene dreams up his own personal superhero and makes a real adventure come to life. Right out of a comic, his creation will bring him all the way to Hollywood, where it becomes a huge success at the cinema. In the background are the fabulous ‘80s, in which both Warwick and Adams grew up. The sets by Hannah Wolfe and the lights by Andrew Ellis help recreate the atmosphere but the key ingredient is, of course, the music. Composed by Chris Wilkins and Ben Adams - who became famous performing a cover of a song by A-ha - the songs of Eugenius! are an homage to an adrenalin-filled decade. Performing with incredible dance moves are Liam Forde, in his London debut in the role of Eugene, and Laura Baldwin, who musical fans probably already know from her recent performance in Big Fish, along with Daniel Buckley, Ian Hughes, Cameron Blakely, Melissa James and Scott Paiges
