A Fine Stroll through Nature and Culture

A Fine Stroll through Nature and Culture
#BulgariStories

A luxurious stroll around Ubud holds big surprises for attentive gazes, able to capture the spirit of the place, amidst natural monuments and artistic creations, outside the usual tourist haunts. Alternative paths lead visitors to the discovery of the land and its history, revealing new cultural visions as well. This is the founding philosophy of Ubud Story Walks: from Past to Present, a series of itineraries organised along with an expert guide. For example, departing from Pura Gunung Lebah, a temple from the VIII Century, which stands over the Campuhan River, the itinerary transforms into an outright narrative, told between abandoned bridges and modern restaurants, towards the centre of town and the Puri Lukisan Museum, the oldest art museum on the island, finding some time for a coffee and an anecdote connected to surrounding documents, such as the black-and-white photos or the coins of the past. Several sculptures and a pond with pink lotus flowers make up the entry to the temple of Pura Taman Saraswati, after which you come to the Palace of Ubud, the residence of the Royal Family. It is here where you come upon a little-known destination - the Lempad House, containing the collection of I Gusti Nyoman Lempa, Balinese artist. A stroll to discover local culture.
