The Atmospheres of Home in Tie Yang's Works

The Jizhong plain, the land of Western Hebei and the Taihang Mountains are the horizons from which the pictorial research of Tie Yang moves, an artist who has a long career of over 70 years behind him. Tie Yang grew up in the People's Republic of China: born in Hebei Province in 1935, he graduated from the Department of Stage Design at the Central Academy of Dramatic Arts in the early 1960s. Timeless landscapes appear in his pictorial compositions: the atmospheres are unadorned and sincere, with a strong spiritual and poetic character. In the exhibition you can appreciate works created with a wide variety of techniques: oil paintings, watercolors and gouache, ink paintings, illustrations and other works of art that testify to Tie Yang's love for his land of origin, for the culture of his world and for everyday life.
