The revolutionary approach of the Rossettis to art, love and life will be explored in-depth in an intriguing itinerary with recited poetry, drawings, paintings, design pieces and photos. For the first retrospective dedicated to Dante Gabriel Rossetti at the Tate, which is also the most complete exhibition of the work of Elizabeth Siddal in around thirty years, the public can admire surviving rare water colour works and drawings by the muse and wife of the painter who, since a young age, had a passion for Dante and the poets of the sweet new style. The exhibition will cast new light on fascinating myths which characterize the unconventional relations between the Sommo poet, Gabriel Rossetti, Elizabeth Siddal, Fanny Cornforth and Jane Morris.
