Ugo Mulas understood photography as a total language. Through the 300 shots displayed in the exhibition set up at Palazzo Reale, it is possible to reconstruct the career of an artist open to experiences and strongly linked to the Milan of the economic boom. The photographs we admire are the mirror of his human and artistic journey. Friend of artists and poets (the bond that united him with Marcel Duchamp, Lucio Fontana and the poet Eugenio Montale was strong), Ugo Mulas loved to explore different fields through his photographic device, such as theater thanks to his partnership with the director Giorgio Strehler and fashion, collaborating with the stylist Mila Schön. When industry and design exploded in Milan, Ugo Mulas was there ready to tell up close the adventure of companies such as Olivetti, Pirelli, Bormioli, names that made the Italian city famous throughout the world. Curious and open to new things, Ugo Mulas was unable to resist the charm of New York, a city to which he dedicated a reportage focused on the underground art scene and which today can be admired again in the installation curated by two great experts, Denis Curti and Alberto Salvadori.
