#Exhibitions

Out of a look at the iconography of the horse, that rampant horse with its rider - quite frequent among many artists of the 1900s - comes the comparison of the artistic explorations of Lucio Fontana, particularly those conducted during the ‘30s, and the work of Leonardo da Vinci. A methodological comparison, besides iconographic, in which the empirical and experimental procedure is fully fleshed out. Both artists based their work on concepts of “simplicity” and “force”. The reflections around the comparison between Fontana and Leonardo is focused on the analysis of the representations dedicated to the theme of horses created by the master of “Spatialism” in relation to the drawings of Leonardo. But not only. The parallels return regarding the drawings of battles created by Fontana and the studies for the Battle of Anghiari by the genius of Leonardo.
