Cao Fei: 30 Years of Art at the Pudong Museum of Art

She is considered one of the most internationally acclaimed contemporary Chinese artists. In 2023, Cao Fei was ranked 10th on ArtReview's prestigious "Power 100" list of the art world's most influential figures. The exhibition that the Museum of Art Pudong dedicates to the artist offers an overview of her thirty-year activity, displaying a selection of works that mix social themes, popular aesthetics and references to Surrealism. The second floor of the museum houses the first works created during the Pearl River Delta period, the works related to the exploration in the digital and virtual realms of the "metaverse" originated from the RMB City (RMB - To be ReMember) and the HX research project. Visitors will also be able to admire for the first time seven works by Cao Fei making their world debut and thirteen works exhibited for the first time on Chinese soil.
