The exhibition - focus of the summer program of the X Museum - explores the theme “ephemeral bodies” through sculptures and installations, created ad hoc in some cases, by Chinese and foreign artists. The collective is the perfect pretext for discussing, in the vastest way, how every body is a microcosm, capable of enclosing and disclosing narratives that merge various fields of knowledge, ranging from biology to the study of new materials and even psychology. Departing from an interdisciplinary perspective, the exhibition offers its conceptual bases in feminist theories from the Australian philosopher Elizabeth Grosz - ecology, feminism and biology invite us to re-examine the rapport, sometimes conflictual, between feminine emotions and the human body. The exhibition doesn’t offer easy answers but aims at revealing the fragility and paradox that faces individuals; the latter being, at times, the protagonist, at times, marginalised by a society in continuous evolution, for this very reason, in need of reviewing its priority of values regarding gender, nature and physicality.
