Creative Talents from around the World Rethink Design in a Sustainable Manner

Between the end of the 1960s and the start of the 1970s, the world of design and industrial production began to become aware of the challenges posed by environmental impact and limits created by unregulated and unqualified development. This allowed for - first, from a theoretical point of view, then from a practical one - the renovation, albeit gradually, of the technicological research connected to eco-comaptible materials and, not lastly, the creation and industrial production of the objects used in daily life. In recent years, the behaviour of consumers and designers have changed profoundly, making the reflection on sustainability the point of departure in the creative process of design objects. Sustainable Design China Summit is a format developed in conjunction with the Design China Beijing fair and was conceived to explore the world of design through a sustainable lens. A group of international guests is invited to share experimental proposals regarding the use of new materials, the human alteration of the enviroment and circular regenative strategies, as well as a new way of conceiving design to guarantee real and sustainable innovation on a large scale.
