Look Out - Maurizio Cattelan’s Coming!
#Exhibitions

A journey through the mind of one of the most original and controversial artists of all time - the personal exhibition of Maurizio Cattelan, curated by Francesco Bonami at the UCCA, is a visual compendium of the themes and iconography that the artist holds most dear. A vast selection of works - around 30 pieces ranging from Lessico Famigliare from 1988, to the most-discussed installations with historic characters as well, varying in terms of their epochs and ideologies, such as JFK but also Pope John Paul II - allows the public to appreciate the various shades of the artist’s personality, always interested in a hybrid of art, costumes, design but also publicity and media. Irreverent and provocative, the art of Maurizio Cattelan has multiple tones, moving from the quotidian sphere of found objects, often used and raised to the level of true works of art, to the holiest of holies, desecrated by the artist’s hand and his cynicism, full of irony and provocation. This is an opportunity to look at the entire career of the most talked-about Italian contemporary artist.
