X Museum - a New Address for Art
#Art

The collective exhibition How Do We Begin? inaugurates the first edition of the Triennial of the X Museum, marking the birth of the museum itself. Curated by Poppy Dongxue Wu, How Do We Begin? is a prism through which to view the myriad of conceptual and aesthetic approaches which characterise the new generation of Chinese artists, untraceable to any school of thought or style, but so many individual approaches in terms of modus operandi and aesthetic choices. How Do We Begin? reflects on the age in which we live, with infinite possibilities offered by new technologies, and celebrates the accessibility of knowledge and information, the shared experiences and emotions, made possible thanks to digital and new media. At the same time, the exhibition is also an occasion to reflect on the current overproduction of information, at times misleading, and which has altered physical relations and social structures. Lee Lee Chan, Cheng Ran, Guan Xiao, Wang Haiyang, Wang Zigeng and Cui Jie are a few of the 33 artists under the age of forty who, with works ranging from videos to installations, from painting to sculptures, take on the problems of today, lighting up the spaces designed by TEMP, spread out over two floors and 24.000 square metres.
