Yesterday Paris 1925, today Beijing 2025: two cities at the center of change. A century ago the Exhibition of Decorative Arts opened in the French capital, a historic event that marked the aesthetics of an era. At that time, modern science and new technologies opened up infinite possibilities for the future and artists responded to the solicitations by inventing Art Deco, a style that was not limited to decoration but aimed at defining a new formal language to interpret Modernism. On display are the works of five artists  - Pang Xunqin, Lei Guiyuan, Zheng Ke, Wu Guanzhong and Chang Shana - who spent a period of their lives in France or grew up there, interpreting the cultural spirit of the new, current Chinese era in light of the teachings and academic ideals they received from their predecessors.
