The Art of Ceramics
#Art

Celadon is a sort of ceramic from China which uses glazing, a glass-like enamel, typically translucent green or blue-grey. This itinerant exhibition, with its first stop in Beijing, explains to the public, using the archeological testimony of over 800 pieces, the history of commercial trade between China and the rest of the world. Archeologists have discovered examples of Celadon from the Song Dynasty (960-1279), the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) and the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) all over China. Substantial quantities of Celadon have also been found in digs along historical Chinese trade routes, testifying to the busy trade between the China and the Far and Middle East. The exhibition has already won over the Chinese public and in its next international stops, it is sure to write other new chapters in this history.
