A new exhibition produced in collaboration with the Musée d'Orsay arrives at the Louvre Abu Dhabi following the great success of the Impressionism: Pathways to Modernity exhibition. The new exhibition project - entitled Post-Impressionism: Beyond Appearances - delves into this fascinating period in history, focusing specifically on the years between 1886 and 1905. Two decades that were a period of immense innovation and artistic experimentation, and which marked the transition from Impressionism to the explosive emergence of the Fauves at the Salon d'Automne. The exhibition, curated by the Curator of Paintings at the Musée d'Orsay Jean-Rémi Touzet and by the Chief Curator of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, recounts this fundamental historical passage in modern art. Vincent van Gogh is the protagonist of this exhibition which starts from his famous painting The Bedroom. A painting created by van Gogh in 1888 in the famous yellow house in Arles where he lived and which represents the essence of Post-Impressionism and its departure from traditional artistic conventions.
