It’s opening is set for October 2020 for the World Expo, but, on the Island of Bluewaters, the Ain Dubai, what will be the world’s tallest ferris wheel, is already standing. Dubai, a city which embraced visionary architectural and engineering projects like the Palm Islands, a city of superlatives - the Burj Khalifa remains the tallest skyscraper on Earth - has made a vocation out of spectacle and wonder. The giant ferris wheel will reach 210 metres in height, a size that allows it to easily top the London Eye (135 metres), as well as the High Roller (167 metres) of Las Vegas, from which it seizes the record. To build Ain Dubai, 9.000 tons of steel were used, along with 192 cables, measuring a stunning 2.440 kilometres. The cabins that will allow spectators to enjoy a 360° view of the city, 48 of them, will permit a total capacity of 1.900 people - all numbers that paint a rather clear picture of the amazing attraction.
