M83 - Top Electronic Music on Stage at the Dubai Opera

The group M83 was born as an electronic music duo in Antibes in 1999, with multi-instrumentalists Nicolas Fromageau and Anthony Gonzalez. The first album came out in 2000 and was entitled M83, just like the group, the name referring to the Sothern Pinwheel Galaxy. Shortly after the second album, entitled Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts (2003), Fromageau left the group and Antony Gonzalez has since been the only constant element of the line-up. The first album after this change was Before the Dawn Heals Us (2005), a totally instrumental work. Starting in 2010, Gonzalez also began working for the cinema, creating the soundtrack of Black Heaven from director Gilles Marchand , followed by the science fiction film Oblivion, in 2013, starring Tom Cruise. The track My Tears Are Becoming a Sea, from the album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, candidate at the Grammy Awards 2013 in the category "Best Alternative Music Album”, is in the trailer of Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Parte 2. In the same year, 2015, M83 collaborated on the soundtrack of Suburra by Stefano Sollima. On the 15th of June, Antony Gonzalez will be on stage at the Dubai Opera to offer some of his most beloved pieces, such as Midnight City, Wait, and Reunion.
