Carlo Orsi, the photographer who loved his Milan

He made his debut in the post-war period with a Leica around his neck as a reporter for various newspapers such as Corriere della Sera, Panorama, Settimo Giorno, Il Mondo and Oggi. He was a regular at the Bar Jamaica in Brera, at that time a melting pot of painters, writers and poets. It was there that Carlo Orsi probably met Ugo Mulas, of whom he would become assistant at the beginning of his career. A photographer who has always stood out for his dissident and ironic gaze, Orsi loved to portray his city tirelessly for over sixty years. On display are portraits of numerous artists, designers, stylists and actors who have marked the second half of the twentieth century alongside works for the world of fashion and advertising. And then the famous reportages that took him around the world: from bullfighter schools in Spain to the iconic landscapes of the United States, to the fall of the Berlin Wall and humanitarian missions, accompanied as a volunteer, in Tibet, China, Uganda, Bangladesh and Bolivia.
