The "ninth art" comes to the museum
#Exhibition

The world of comics takes center stage at the Musée national d'art moderne at the Centre Pompidou. An appointment which is much more than a simple exhibition and which rather recalls the idea of a real immersion in the magical and imaginary world that comics awaken in the public. On the fifth floor of the Pompidou, the walls feature the historical masters of the Ninth Art, great comics artists to whom six monographic exhibitions are dedicated: Edmond-François Calvo, Will Eisner, Hergé, George Herriman, Winsor McCay and Geo McManus. In the main room, contemporary comics productions are exhibited, created by authors in homage to artists whose masterpieces are present in the museum's collections and who are great sources of inspiration for them. 15 authors engage in this comparison: David B., Edmond Baudoin, Blutch, Philippe Dupuy, Brecht Evens, Gabriella Giandelli, Dominique Goblet, Emmanuel Guibert, Benoît Jacques, Éric Lambé, Lorenzo Mattotti, Catherine Meurisse, Joann Sfar, Anna Sommer and Chris Ware.
