The allure of the extremely distant in time never ceases to exert its magnetic force on man. But being able to suddenly bring to the surface of consciousness a knowledge that has apparently fallen into an endless depth, in our past, is a feat of few. Pietro Ruffo travels in time, in the remote era in which the first man appeared on Earth, wondering how legitimate the term Anthropocene is. Immersive works follow one another along the rooms of the main floor. The Last Wonderful Minute, which is also the title of a work, recreates the atmosphere of a primordial forest in the rooms of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni. Inside, visitors can walk among the testimonies of an ancient history offered by the circular works entitled De Hortus. The exhibition route continues to discover the first human traces and subsequently through the awareness of time, thanks to the video installation The Planetary Garden. At the end of the exhibition, a section is dedicated to Rome, seen and dissected in its various historical and geological phases.
