#Exhibitions

Digital exhibitions celebrating the works of the great masters of art history and making them accessible to the public at large are multiplying all around the world. This Spring, Shanghai will also see an immersive art exhibition dedicated to one of the best-known and most-beloved artists ever - Vincent van Gogh. The exhibition, with its first stop at the Atelier des Lumières in Paris in 2020, has already visited almost thirty cities worldwide. 149 of Van Gogh’s masterpieces are offered in digital form and, thanks to multimedia technology, appear on the walls to the rhythm of music. The colourful and tormented universe of the Dutch artist - who created around 2000 works over the last ten years of his life, including paintings and drawings now scattered about the globe - unfolds in a thematic itinerary which offers the various phases of Van Gogh’s life, from his stays in Arles and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence to the years in Paris and the works associated with these various places. The expressive and potent brushstrokes of Van Gogh, the audacious colours of his landscapes and his tormented interior world are made even more tangible by the technology and the well-rounded experience that digital means have to offer.
