This ambitious exhibition project, created with the support of the Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, is part of the Year of Culture and Tourism Italy-China 2022. The exhibition, articulated in three sections, Life and Beauty, Power and Beauty and Love and Beauty, tells of the splendour of Roman civilisation from the I to II Centuries, with magnificent examples of sculpture, painting, mosaics, bronzes and glass pieces from the Farnese Collection and the archeological digs of Ercolano and Pompei. The exhibition presents over 70 finds which have rarely or, in some cases, never left the Archeological Museum of Naples, including some absolute masterpieces from the Farnese Collection, such as the Venus Callipyge, Apollo Citharoedus, Asclepius, Aphrodite Crouching with Eros and Athens-Minerva. An event of extraordinary importance for the precious nature of the pieces on display, for the historical precision with which the idea of beauty is reconstructed, as well as for the fascinating atmosphere and the dynamic displays. This is one of the exhibitions not to be missed for fans of beauty and it can also be enjoyed during the newly introduced evening visiting hours.
