The Diary of Su-Mei Tse

The Diary of Su-Mei Tse
#Art

Nested is a personal exhibition conceived like a sort of diary - it gathers notes, visions that have been part of the daily life of Su-Mei Tse over recent years. Whether it is visual or sonic impressions or those linked to memory, the artist mixes them with intuition, instinct, building a web of echoes, memories and coincidences. These ideas are developed gradually, in the rooms and the corridors of the Yuz Museum, creating a poetic and intimate space, in which the visitor can nest for a moment, enjoying the silence, away from the chaos of the city. The simplicity of the images, of the videos and the sculptures seem almost in contrast with their evocative power and their multiplicity of meanings. The works immortalise certain experiences of daily life, intense yet fleeting - those moments that, just like one of the titles of a work suggests, make up the dizzying sensations of life. Nested is the result of years of exploration, carried out in various geographical contexts - the starting point was in Italy and then moved on to Asia. The exhibition brings together numerous recent works and some quite new ones, such as Stone Collection II, the large installation created in Shanghai.
