This ballet is a major production reworked for the opening of the National Ballet of Japan season ten years ago. A classic beloved around the world and considered one of the three greatest works of the Russian composer Tchaikovsky. The staging since its first performance in 2014 has been highly praised, described as "simply luxurious" by critics and audiences. This version of Sleeping Beauty combines Wayne Eagling's choreography, that maintains a classical style, with sophisticated and colorful costumes perfected by Toer van Schayk, that echo his previous career as a dancer and the art direction of Kawaguchi Naoji.
