Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions has embraced moving images not as an exclusive category, but as a theme that encompasses a wide array of alternative visions. The festival continues to serve as a platform to promote and support a variety of possible alternatives that art and moving images can inspire. The 2025 edition of the festival will aspire to an even deeper investigation into the nature of moving images by exhibiting new works by four finalists in the Commission Project (3rd floor exhibition gallery), which returns for its second edition. This exhibition, along with several new programs related to this year’s theme, will further strengthen the festival’s role as a forum for moving images. As always, the question remains the same: “What is a moving image?”
