The celebrations to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Raphael stop in Beijing with an exhibition curated by the famed Italian art historian and professor at the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, Claudio Strinati. This international project explores the cultural heritage of Raffaello Sanzio beyond Italy’s borders. After the exhibition in Shenzhen, the more than 60 works from the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca and the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria, are on display at the Guardian Art Center. Among the works is also Putto Reggifestone, a fresco recognised as an original work by Raphael just before being sent to China from Italy in March of 2021. Oil paintings, frescoes, sculptures and digital reproductions perfectly illustrate the classical artistic principals typical of the art of Raphael and contribute to paying homage to his timeless genius. The event is also part of the Road to 2022, the calendar of events leading up to the Year of Culture and Tourism Italy-China in 2022.
