Connect Minds and Create the Future - that’s the theme behind the highly-awaited Expo 2020 in Dubai to be held from October of this year through March 2022. Six months during which the city will host 191 nations which, for the first time in the history of the World’s Fair, will each have their own pavilion. Architectural wonders and innovations destined to charm visitors. The football superstar Lionel Messi started the countdown with a video shot in Al Wasl Plaza, the heart of the Expo. Al Wasl, which in Arabic means “connection”, is the perfect name for this town square, a full-fledged fulcrum that connects three thematic districts of the Expo which revolve around the themes of sustainability, mobility and opportunity. From here, visitors can also access the Pavilion of the United Arab Emirates. The dome of the building, which was worked on by 800 engineers and technicians, is the largest in the world, 130 metres wide and 67.5 metres high. A steel structure which, besides being spectacular to look at, also serves as a surface for laser projections that can be seen from both inside and out.
