The Distance from Here is a collective exhibition in which several artists from different countries and with different artistic approaches, explore the concept of distance in space and time and the relationship of our body with these two aspects through artistic language, the sense of touch and memory. The operas on display explore, in particular, transitional spaces, both mental and physical, the moment of passage between before and after, the rapport between visible and invisible, presence and absence, between the ordinary and quotidian and the unexpected and unusual. The works by artists Mona Ayyash, Yto Barrada, Hicham Benohoud, Jason Dodge, Shilpa Gupta, Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Sreshta Rit Premnath, Hrair Sarkissian, Do Ho Suh and Anup Mathew Thomas were created over the last 15 years but are, nevertheless, completely relevant today.
