“Continuously shooting photos for many years, it’s nice, once in a while, to reflect on one’s self and observe what others see in and get from my photos,” says Mario Testino, one of the most influential fashion and portrait photographers who, with his emblematic images, has gone beyond genre and culture to speak of people from all around the world. For the first big personal exhibition of Testino, never before hosted in an art gallery, 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS has conceived of an ambitious itinerary which brings to the attention of both Italian and international collectors, over 50 works by the Peruvian artist and photographer. Muses and models that left a mark on the extraordinary career of Testino, protagonists of never-before-seen shots, give way to a more intimate portrait of the artist which emerges from an authentic ode to Italy. An anthem which was born out of the publishing project Ciao (Taschen, 2020), entirely dedicated to the love of Italy. The project Mario Testino: Unfiltered gathers, for the first time, a body of intimate instances, authentic moments of life lived fully by the artist, along with some of the faces that left their mark on his luminous career.
