To celebrate his 40th Birthday, Matteo Fato presents an ambitious project which fully explores the role of painting itself. This winner of numerous prestigious awards comes to the Museo Francesco Messina with Il Presentimento di Altre Possibilità, an intense personal exhibition which the curator has defined as “synthesist and rationalionist”. It is thanks to the Cramum Prize that the artist from Pescara is able to exhibit at the Museo Messina, a centre of intellectual experimentation as well as artistic, his most ambitious project. On display, throughout the four floors of the museum, historic and new works by Matteo Fato. Even the space, the deconsecrated Baroque Church of San Sisto in the heart of Milan, becomes an essential part of the exhibition. "Matteo Fato,” the museum’s director, Maria Fratelli explains, “had the courage to push, for this exhibition, his studies in the areas closest to those of Francesco Messina of whom he realises a portrait that presents itself, with its presence and vigour, as a sort of impossible self-portrait with the colours, methods and poetry of Fato, yet capable of evoking the intensity of a master of the 1900s as if her were a veritable seer.”
