Homage to Qiao Zhibing - one of the most important and innovative collectors in China - revolves around twelve works by both Chinese and international artists. The exhibition gives an idea of the guidelines at the base of the vast collection that Qiao has created since 2006 in which the languages of painting, installation, video and sculpture all co-exist. Known for his intuition and innovative spirit, Qiao has often been ahead of the times, being the first to collect pieces from young artists who went on to fame and fortune on the international level. Qiao Zhibing presents works from his collection by Andro Wekua, Danh Vo, Martin Creed, Oscar Murillo, Thomas Houseago, Theaster Gates but also Qui Xiaofei, Hu Xiaoyuan, He Xiangyu, Liu Jianhua, Liu Wei and Yang Fudong among others. An exhibition which proves to be, not only a reflection on the aesthetic motivations that push him to collect, but also on the ethical, social and cultural implications that motivate Qiao to collect and be a source of inspiration for artists and other collectors.
