The Heartfelt Emotions in the Canvases of Bernard Frize

The Heartfelt Emotions in the Canvases of Bernard Frize
#Exhibitions

Chromatic variations, the result of the interaction between acrylic colours and resins will capture the gaze of spectators at the first personal exhibition in a gallery in China by French artist Bernard Frize. Randomness and predetermination co-exist in works characterised by repetition, precise protocols which render abstract compositions, chromatic sequences following various geometric patterns which surprise both artist and spectator with their often surprising variations. The spectator is invited by the artist to not remain in a mere state of ecstatic contemplation, but to enter into communication with the paintings, breathing life into them with their critical eye and aesthetic sense. Frize explores the function of painting - language in which he has always believed, even during the years where many dismissed him as he embraced more experimental languages - and the means of emotionally engaging the public with works in which the myriad of colours utilised correspond to a vast number of emotional interpretations.
