Modigliani, Chagall, Picasso, Fujita are some of the artists who revolutionized the cultural and artistic scene of Paris at the beginning of the twentieth century. Avant-garde artists who gave life to a multiplicity of experiments and who, moving away from the classical canons in which Western art had developed, gave rise to a real transformation that influenced art in France and throughout the world, creating works that still today continue to amaze the spectators with their beauty and courage. This exhibition will introduce a variety of artistic expressions that originated in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century by presenting some masterpieces present in the collections of the Matsuoka Museum of Art in Tokyo. A journey that starts from the École de Paris, which brought together many artists from all over the world, and then explores the avant-gardes of Cubism, Fauvism and Surrealism and some of the most important protagonists of these artistic movements.
