Sophie Calle, the Story Hunter

Sophie Calle, the Story Hunter
#Exhibitions

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso's death, the museum that bears the name of the great Spanish artist has invited Sophie Calle to exhibit in its rooms in the heart of the historic Marais district. Sophie Calle is many things at the same time: she is a conceptual artist, a writer, a photographer, a video artist. Above all, she is a very original character - as The Guardian recently told - Calle "is someone who chases strangers down the street or takes a picture of you while you're sleeping". With the nose of the detective, Calle is a real "hunter of stories" - her works seem to be connected to each other in a great system of echoes and references, between the intimate dimension and the public dimension, between art and life. For this exhibition, the Musée National Picasso-Paris has given her carte blanche and the possibility to unfold her universe in relation to Picasso in total freedom.
