Visiting the DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre) until the 30th of September 2023, you can admire works of contemporary art, installations, sculptures and video art, all connected by the theme Tales Under the Gate. This is a project that seeks to invite visitors to leave their quotidian confines and immerse themselves in art as a constructive element of their surrounding reality. For this second edition of the DIFC Sculpture Park, the Oblong Contemporary Gallery offers the works of three Italian artists - Antonio Signorini, Gianfranco Meggiato and Michelangelo Bastiani. The latter picks up on one of the central themes of art history - the comparison between artifice and nature, creating works that regenerate the natural world through digital processes which meld real objects and multi-media. A dynamic co-existence from the point of view of perception as well. La Terra e l’Aria nei Tuoi Passi, Nuvola nel Deserto and Trail, are the three works displayed at the DIFC Sculpture Park. Dichotomies and paradoxes return in the sculptures of Antonio Signorini, two white Flying Horses, whose “impossible balance” defies gravity. Meanwhile, the bronze sculptures of Gianfranco Meggiato, entitled Sfera Conchiglia, symbolise the harmony intertwined in the intricate dramas of life.
