Down to Earth 2026

As Winter approaches, Jameel Arts Centre renews one of the most distinctive events in its cultural programme. Down to Earth returns on 14 and 15 November 2026, reaffirming a format that has carved out a unique place in Dubai's cultural landscape. More than a festival, it is a meeting point where contemporary art, landscape and ecological practices come together without losing their sense of openness and participation. Rather than approaching sustainability as an abstract concept, Down to Earth turns it into a lived experience. For two days, the Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park and the museum's grounds become an open-air laboratory, where workshops, botanical walks, installations, performances and talks encourage visitors to rethink the relationship between the city and the natural world. Art is not presented as a separate discipline, but as one of the tools through which urban life can be reimagined. Among the festival's highlights is the return of the Green Bazaar, bringing together growers, designers, artisans and local producers with a curated selection of plants, sustainable products, vintage fashion, books and environmentally conscious design. Over the years, it has become one of the festival's defining features, creating a lively meeting point between creativity, local enterprise and environmental awareness. In a country often associated with ambitious architecture and rapid urban development, Down to Earth offers a different perspective on Dubai - one that explores new ways of connecting culture, community and nature. Rather than offering ready-made answers, the festival invites visitors to think of sustainability as an everyday practice, built through small gestures, shared experiences and collective care.
