A Full-Immersion Tour through the History of Dubai
ロケーション: Etihad Museum
住所: 1 Jumeirah St - Al Mina
A look at what the United Arab Emirates were before the Modern Era and how visionary leadership transformed Dubai into the vibrant city it is today. All of this is offered by a virtual tour of the pavilions of the Etihad Museum right from the comfort of home. It’s like flipping through a three-dimensional picture book or a parchment. That parchment, for instance, on which the Constitution was written in 1971 and which inspired the very shape of the museum’s building designed by the Canadian firm of Moriyama & Teshima Architects, right on the spot where the United Arab Emirates were founded. The virtual tour of the museum, conceived of especially for young people and their education, allows visitors to retrace the steps leading to the Nation’s birth with numerous support elements. There are the images and declarations of the Founding Fathers, photos and documents, maps and videos, buts also everyday objects, such as clothing and even watches - a gathering of the many pieces that composed the puzzle that is the history of Emirates.
This exhibition highlights the ways in which iconography has been preserved and restored at different periods in history, raising crucial questions about how symbols acquire new meaning as they are continually reintroduced into contemporary contexts.
The first international exhibition dedicated to Vietnamese contemporary artist Trần Lương. From painting to installation, to performance, the exhibition delves into Trần's life and work.
Grace, pain, love. These are the three key words with which the new exhibition of the Iranian painter, musician and performance artist Reza Derakshani opens in Dubai.
