Large works on greenish-blue reflective surfaces at the Galleria Poggiali offer a look at the explorations of Goldschmied & Chiari of the natural world, their critical relationship with history and the polarity between reality and fiction. Starting in 2014, an alchemical technique brought the duo to create the series Untitled Views. The artists, inside their studio, fire off coloured smoke bombs to capture, through photography, the symphony of smoky colours that they let loose. The images, selected for harmony and structure, are then printed on reflective glass. The reflective surfaces of these works invade the spaces in which they are displayed, involving the spectator who takes an active part in these “visions/views” which are open to a multiple of interpretations and meanings. In some cases, the reflective surfaces, direct and luminous, emerge intensely. In others, by simply changing the angle of observation, the works resemble pastels or densely coloured paintings reminiscent of the work of J.M.W. Turner. Next to the Untitled Views, the exhibition also presents new works created specifically for the spaces of the Project Room of Foro Buonaparte.
Fifteenth Century Milan goes on display at the Museo del Duomo - designs from the "Atlantic Codex" and immersive reconstructions reveal the ideas of the genius Da Vinci for the city’s greatest landmark building.
