Master Riccardo Chailly chooses the Requiem Mass for soloists, chorus and orchestra to pay homage to the victims of the pandemia. Along with him will be a quartet of remarkable voices - the soprano Tamara Wilson - who stunned the public with the Requiem directed by Riccardo Chailly in 2018 - the mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča, who played Carmen at La Scala and who sang the Mass in 2012 with Daniel Barenboim, the tenor Francesco Meli and bass Ildar Abdrazakov, back in front of the Milanese public after the triumph, in 2018, as the protagonist in Attila. Bruno Casoni will direct the chorus. Italy’s largest churches host this unique event, an intense moment of meditation on the dramatic events of recent months. The performance will be repeated in Bergamo on September 7 and in Brescia on September 9.
