Urban Art goes to the museum

Shepard Fairey, Invader, D*Face, Seth, Cleon Peterson, Hush, Swoon, Vhils, Inti, Add Fuel and Conor Harrington. They are some of the thirteen artists invited by the Petit Palais to put street art in dialogue with the permanent collections of the Parisian museum in an exhibition entitled We Are Here*. A slogan that recalls the themes of civil rights struggles and evokes feelings of affirmation, resilience and vindication. A true exploration of urban art that is offered to visitors through a journey that culminates in an installation of over 200 works presented in a single large room of the museum. The idea is to recreate a sort of Salon des Refusés at the Petit Palais, a tribute to those exhibition spaces that were at the origin of countless artistic avant-gardes between the end of the nineteenth century and the first decades of the last century. A double message which on the one hand recognizes the legitimacy of a very popular artistic movement and on the other proposes Paris as a meeting place for artists from all over the world and as the capital of world art.
