Born out of the international celebrations dedicated to the art of glass conceived by the United Nations, the collective My Flower Doesn’t Have a Name Yet is the ideal opportunity to get to know the work of some of the youngest and most interesting glassmakers in China. Paying homage to the beauty and infinite possibilities that glass offers, the pieces on display range from conceptual installations with intimist tones, such as Untitled from the young Chinyurin, an iron chair with a cushion completely crafted with glass, all the way to works created using 3D printing techniques, such as Treasures Cabinet by Ji Huang in which ceramic, along with printed resin and glass create the image of post-modern nature in which scholar’s stones are not moulded by nature but the hand of man. Glass is combined with metal in the work Duang by Wendi Xie where materials normally relegated to industrial use assume poetic value. With international backgrounds, the young talents on display exalt the potential of a material given to various transformations and which, even if recycled, manages to express all of its precious character.
