The historic Asia Building in the Bund is the ideal place for this large exhibition, the fruit of the collaboration between the Accademia Carrara of Bergamo in Italy and the Bund One Art Museum - a look at the evolution of Italian art from the Renaissance to the XIX Century. The crux of the exhibition is the section dedicated to the art of Humanism and the Renaissance, period of economic, cultural and social rebirth, the art of which became emblematic of Italian culture throughout the world. There are numerous masterpieces on display, such as San Sebastiano by Raphael, Orfeo e Euridice by Titian, but also major works by Andrea Mantegna, Giovanni Bellini, Lorenzo Lotto, Francesco Hayez and Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, rarely seen at the same time on foreign soil, especially in Asia. The exhibition is the result of enormous organisational efforts and perfect synchronisation between the various institutions involved for years in creating such an event despite the pandemic. It is a must-see for art lovers of all ages, wishing to see masterpieces up close, quite beloved and studied in China.
