The Tokyo Photographic Art Museum presents a major monographic exhibition dedicated to Japanese photographer Takano Ryudai. The exhibition follows Takano from his early years to the present, with works exhibited to the public for the first time. Since 1998, Takano has set himself the task of taking at least one photograph a day and continues to point his camera at scenes encountered in everyday life. The exhibition presents a series of ordinary snapshots known variously as his Daily Snapshots or kasubaba. “Carefully studying everyday life,” explains Takano, “where not everything around us is beautiful in itself, is a way to examine the present time as well.”
