The Return of the Yokohama Museum of Art

This exhibition project aims to highlight the true diversity of a large Japanese city: Yokohama. A broad theme that tells the story of the city and the people who lived there before the opening of its port in 1859, which ushered in the Meiji era, and then moves on to tell the story of today's metropolis and its current citizens, who come from approximately 170 nations. The exhibition makes extensive use of the museum's collection and also features newly commissioned works. The title is a recognition of the return of the Yokohama Museum of Art after three years of renovations and a message of openness to all those who have been or are now connected to this megalopolis, regardless of the era in which they lived or the region in which they were born.
