Flora - Contemporary Reflections
#Exhibitions

The non-profit space 69 Art Campus, besides presenting its own collection to the public, also relies on external curators to propose exhibitions that take on key contemporary issues. Plant Time, a collective exhibition of 17 Chinese artists of varying backgrounds and approaches, is a clear example of the modus operandi of the space. Plants, their capacity to feel and perceive, as well as their active role in the maintenance and changes of the world as we know it are at the centre of the event. The collective intelligence of plants, their way of being unique and similar at the same time, the multiple utopian and dystopian metamorphoses of the vegetable world are a starting point for a reflection by the invited artists, including Timur Si-Qin, Hu Jieming, Zhan Wang paired with Zhan Xin and Guan Xiao. The context in which the works are displayed - especially because it isn’t the neutral space of a museum or art gallery - accentuates even further the ties between the themes approached by the artists with daily life.
