The black bench (Black Sand - 2018) by Argentinian sculpture Pablo Reinoso, before a series of sculptures entitled Spaghetti Bench; the circle as a symbol of the centre of the cosmos (Ascèse - 2015) in the painting of French artist Fabienne Verdier, and Frenetic Chaos (2014), a bronze sculpture by American artist Jedd Novatt, are just some of the works on display in a collective exhibition entitled Spring Break, organised at the Custot Gallery in Dubai for its third anniversary. A journey through time and the geography of modern and contemporary art, through paintings and sculptures by international artists from various generations and various artistic movements. Works by Joan Miró and Fernand Léger, next to those of Etel Adnan, Ron Arad, Nick Brandt, Ian Davenport, Barry Flanagan, Peter Halley, Richard Höglund, Umberto Mariani, Hervé van der Straeten, Bernar Venet, Sophia Vari, and Fernando Botero, to whom the gallery recently dedicated a monographic show. Marc Quinn, one of the important members of the group Young British Artist, is also present with three bronze sculptures from the series The Nurseries of El Dorado, and with The Eye of History - Polar Perspective - Red (2012), one of the works from the series Iris, photorealistic paintings using an airbrush, in which Quinn reproduces irises as windows on the world, but seen from an unusual perspective.
